This Sunday, President Claudia Sheinbaum led a public assembly in the capital's Zócalo, with the participation of thousands of people. In the event, Sheinbaum highlighted the importance of Mexico's collaboration to prevent drugs like fentanyl from reaching the United States. She emphasized the need to maintain a relationship of respect between both countries and underscored Mexico's commitment to combat drug trafficking for humanitarian reasons.

Sheinbaum shared positive data about the decrease in fentanyl crossing from Mexico to the United States, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office. Additionally, she emphasized that Mexico is willing to collaborate to stop the flow of high-powered weapons into its territory. The president also addressed the migration issue and highlighted the importance of promoting development to curb forced migration.

In the context of recent negotiations with U.S. President Donald Trump to avoid tariffs on Mexican products, Sheinbaum thanked the willingness to engage in dialogue from the U.S. and highlighted the importance of cooperation between both countries. She explained that trade agreements like the USMCA have strengthened economic relations. Sheinbaum emphasized Mexico's stance against reciprocal tariffs and the need to maintain constant dialogue to achieve beneficial agreements for both nations.
